Energy Service Corps meets every Monday, 5:20-6:20, in the 3rd Floor Student Lounge in the Robeson Campus Center.
Here in Newark we have a lot of old, urban buildings that are drafty
and cost way too much to heat and cool. Families are already having to
make tough choices about where to spend their money, and having to pay
high energy bills just adds to this stress. There's also a huge gap
between what's available and what people know is available. Out of all
households qualified for state and federal assistance in upgrading their
homes to be more energy efficient, less than 1% have even applied!
So that's where we come in - we'll connect people to the information
and resources, and even provide some immediate relief through basic
weatherization projects.
NJPIRG's Energy Service Corps was honored by Mayor Booker for their work in organizing "25 Days of Service." Read about it here!
